only to tell us he has leukemia and is undergoing treatment.
What? I know there was a total eclipse of the sun recently, but
seriously…
O.K., I can’t take any more bad news, there has to be a
silver lining somewhere. For me it’s the fact that I have the
pleasure of knowing and working with the best technical
writers this trade has to offer, past and present. These are
special individuals who are passionate about locksmithing,
love sharing their knowledge and experiences and do it better
than anyone. They are the best of the best and we are proud
and honored to have them in our magazine.
The great thing about publishing is these names and the
work they have done will live on and continue to help educate
others interested in this trade long after they are gone.
In closing, I’m shocked, heartbroken and still in disbelief.
Richard was a good friend, a prolific contributing writer to
this magazine and will be sorely missed. Peace be with you
my friend, till we meet again.
By coincidence, just today as I was finishing up this editorial, I received news that Dale Middleton of Bell’s Security
Sales, Inc. passed away. Bell’s Security Sales is a well-known
and respected distributor in the New Jersey area. Our sincere
condolences.
Oh, wait, there’s more. Two days later I was informed
that another good friend of mine Timothy (Timmy) Reasner
(whom I also just recently saw) was found lifeless in his bed
by his mother. He passed away in his sleep and they believe
he may have actually passed two days prior to being found.
Yes, it’s been a great month indeed! I sure hope yours was
better.
