To remove the cutter, it is necessary to first
remove the Chip Shield. Remove the four Chip
Shield Screws, shown in Figure 9, and set the Chip
Shield aside. Insert the Cutter Release Pin into the
Cutter Shaft Lock Pin Hole, at the top of the housing,
to lock the Cutter Shaft in position. Loosen the
19mm Cutter Nut (Left Handed Nut) to remove the
Cutter Washer and Cutter.
To index the key vise jaws, loosen the Clamp
Nut to allow the “Key Vise Base” to be lifted out of
its locating slot, as you see in Figure 10. Rotate the
vise to the desired position and allow the clamp jaw
spring to reseat in the locating groove. Rotate the
Clamp Nut Clockwise (right) to bring the Key Vise
Top Jaw down. The Clamp Nut uses a “fine thread.”
Very little pressure is required to securely clamp the
key. Don’t “over torque” the key vises.
Figure 11, details the marking of the 4-Way Jaws.
This key vise is positioned to use vise jaw “A.” As the
vise is rotated, each of the designations will be made
upright at the top left corner of the jaw. The jaws can
be quickly and easily rotated to bring vises A, B, C or
D into position.
