13. Use a 3/4” brad point bit to drill
the hole for the door position switch.
Use this bit on wood doors only.
14. Drill this hole to a depth of
1-1/2”. When drilling this hole,
back the bit out a few times to
clear out the chips.
Steel Door Directions
15. If installing in a steel door, do
not attempt to drill this hole with
a hole saw. The hole will be too
big and the door position switch
will not be held firmly. Install
the 5/16” supplied bushing and
screw.( shown at left) Next drill
a 5/16” diameter hole. Drill this
hole to 3/4” with the use of a step
drill as shown ( on right ) after
the HIT-66 drill guide has been
removed from the door. Use care
and do not drill hole too big!
16. When all holes have been
completed remove the HIT-66 system and alignment fixture from the
door. Install the AD Mortise lock
per manufacturers’ instructions.
